Thanks for another blindingly honest insight into our culture (and your life). Love your apps! I'm just back from a week with no cell phone coverage or internet and am making up for the time away. I'm still reading physical books however.

I've heard it all now. I wish I could get in on the ground floor of some of these businesses. But then...maybe not.

Thx for telling me about the Wired article and your reaction to it. I did read the Op-Ed column the day it appeared and have been looking for a copy of June's Wired. No luck so far. Perhaps I don't need to read it, or if I do, I'll begin to doze before too long. I didn't go to AA when I went on the wagon 38 years ago this month b/c of the stigma in the Episcopal Church at the time. I was in the middle of studying for the ordained priesthood in 1972 and didn't want to run into the Episcopal rector of the church where the meetings were held in Ridgewood, NJ. Instead I did a huge amount of praying in our church in Ho-Ho-Kus that was open 24 hours a day. So I feel as if together God and I licked the problem. In those days, we called ourselves "recovered alcoholics" not "recovering." That's how I still refer to myself. I do know plenty about AA from reading and studying books and magazine articles. Margaret

OMG, K.. what a magic piece this is.. of course I'm not privy to all the "inside jokes" in terms of the jargon, but its so cleverly written that it's hysterical anyhow.. A wonderful piece!!!
